ORLANDO, FL - The Soul will conclude their 4-game road stretch as they head into Orlando to face the 3-1 Predators. Soul Insider spoke with GM Tom Goodhines before the game to see what they can do to get a win on Thursday.
The Soul will have a difficult matchup against the 3-1 Orlando Predators who received their first loss last week to the New Orleans Voodoo. Soul Insider asked GM Tom Goodhines on what kind of preparation did the Soul do during their week long stay in Florida. He basically says that the team is building chemistry to become better players.
"We stayed in Florida all week and our guys really bonded," Goodhines told Soul Insider 3 hours before the game. "We had a really good practice as well."
Goodhines was also asked on if we should expect big things from the team in this game.
"We hope that the players will perform well, that's all we know what is expected of them," Goodhines said. "Coaches put the game plan in place and now it's up to the guys to execute."
The Predators come into this game with a dangerous QB that will look to tear the Soul's defense apart. Last week, Predators QB Jason Boltus played an excellent game despite the loss to New Orleans. He went 27-42, threw for 375 yards and 8 touchdowns. In addition, he leads the AFL in passing with 1,173 yards and 24 touchdowns with a 59.1% completion percentage.
A key player that can help the Soul to victory is FB Derrick Ross. Ross suffered a hamstring injury back in Week 2 and it may have played a factor to his shocking 1 carry for 5 yards, that resulted in a fumble last week against Tampa Bay (week 3). It was an anticipation to Soul Insider that the Soul would sign another RB because of Ross' health. However, Tom Goodhines said that right now Ross is healthy and will play tonight.
"Ross is playing," Goodhines said. "Our staff always looks at every position. Right now, Ross is healthy and we hope he gets back to his old form like the rest of the players."
I think the Soul will eventually find their grove, but in this game, I think Orlando will come out of CFE Arena with a win. Predators 65 Soul 52
